PROGRAMMING
- Individual programming of your radio with the current, authorized frequencies
- 6 channels, each available in both digital and analog versions (for example, Channel 1 on 149.0250 digital and Channel 7 on 149.0250 analog)
- Adjustment of transmit power to 1 watt
- Configuration of different pilot tones (CTCSS) for the analog channels
Technical specifications:
- Since October 1, 2025, Germany has officially released VHF frequencies in the range of 149.01875 – 149.11875 MHz for voice communication with handheld radios.
- Permitted power: max. 1 watt ERP (in border areas up to 25 km from Belgium and Poland, max. 0.5 watt)
- Permitted devices: portable handheld radios powered by battery or rechargeable battery
- Not allowed: external antennas, repeater or gateway operation (e.g., fixed stations or mobile radios)
- Usage: direct radio communication only (peer-to-peer), no range extension (e.g., repeaters)
- VHF frequencies are less suitable for indoor use. For this purpose, we recommend PMR446 devices and frequencies.
- The general frequency allocation is valid from October 1, 2025, until September 30, 2035.
- Voice communication can be encrypted with up to 40-bit encryption. Each radio requires the SW00064 license for this feature.
The frequencies are publicly available in Germany – which means:
- They can be used for both private and commercial purposes.
- Other radio users may be active on the same channels.
- Guaranteed interference-free or exclusive operation is not possible.
- The actual range depends on the environment, terrain, and building structures.
- Use in other countries outside Germany is prohibited.
