MOTOTRBO M2026.01 Update

The MOTOTRBO software on our FTP server has been updated to version M2026.01. This release includes new software versions for various MOTOTRBO components, including CPS 2.0, Radio Management, radios, repeaters, and Capacity Max components.

In addition, the folder structure on the FTP server has been simplified. The former Current folder is no longer used. The latest files are now located directly in their respective root folders, while older versions remain available in the corresponding Archive folder.

What Has Changed on the FTP Server

The overall root folder structure remains the same. The main change is that current software versions are no longer stored in a separate Current folder.

This means:

• The latest software is now available directly in the corresponding root folder.
• Previous versions can still be found in the respective Archive folder.
• The additional Current folder has been removed to make the directory structure easier to navigate.

This makes finding the latest MOTOTRBO software faster and more straightforward.

New Versions of CPS 2.0 and Radio Management

With M2026.01, both CPS 2.0 and Radio Management have been updated to version 2.159.384.0. Both applications now also support Windows Server 2025.

The installer has also been enhanced for automated deployments. The new /noreboot parameter suppresses automatic system restarts after installation, making it particularly useful for centrally managed or scheduled software deployments.

Radio Management also receives improved diagnostic capabilities. The Export Logs feature is now available in additional RM components, allowing relevant logs, configuration data, and environment information to be collected and exported as a ZIP archive.

Radio Updates

Several MOTOTRBO radios now support Capacity Plus Multi-Site Extended as a licensed software feature. According to the release notes, this includes the DP2000e series, MOTOTRBO R5, DP3000e, DP4000e, MOTOTRBO R7/R7a, DP4000Ex, DP4000Ex Ma, MOTOTRBO R7Ex, SL2600, DM2600, and DM4000e.

The MOTOTRBO R7Ex also receives additional functionality, including support for the Generic Option Board API and telemetry features. According to Motorola Solutions, telemetry decoding on the MOTOTRBO R7Ex requires an ATEX-certified third-party accessory cable.

Capacity Max and Infrastructure

M2026.01 also introduces several enhancements for Capacity Max. One of these is support for Satellite Backhaul on Capacity Max RF sites, enabling better support for locations connected via LEO satellites, 4G/5G networks, or other higher-latency links.

The CMSS Cockpit UI has also been expanded and now includes additional management functions previously handled by other tools, including system backups and software updates.

Important for existing systems: Capacity Max System Servers of the first generation based on the HP DL380 G9 platform will no longer receive new feature upgrades starting with M2026.01. According to the release notes, these platforms will remain on the latest supported feature level, M2025.03, or the corresponding maintenance releases.

Capacity Max Bridge Discontinued

With M2026.01, Capacity Max Bridge has been removed from the Capacity Max system. This feature was previously used during migrations from Connect Plus to Capacity Max.

If your system is still undergoing such a migration, you should carefully review the release notes and your specific system environment before upgrading. According to Motorola Solutions, M2025.03 may be the last relevant software version for systems that still require Capacity Max Bridge.

Depending on the device, license status, and currently installed software version, different update requirements may apply.

Important Notes Before Updating

Since M2020.01, MOTOTRBO radios, repeaters, and CMSS systems have only accepted software updates if they are covered by a valid warranty or an appropriate service package. Update eligibility is verified through Software Update Management.

If your system is running an older software version, upgrading directly to the latest release may not always be recommended or possible. For major version jumps, Motorola Solutions recommends performing the update in multiple steps instead of skipping several major releases at once.

If your system uses additional applications, you should verify their compatibility with the new MOTOTRBO version before performing the update.
